Addai and Mari are the names preserved in the Liturgy of Addai and Mari, the ancient Eucharistic prayer of the Church of the East. Tradition holds that the holy doctrine of the liturgy was fixed by the two earliest teachers of the East Syrian church, and the anaphora that bears their names is among the oldest Christian liturgies still in use.
