Alchmund of Hexham

Alchmund of Hexham was an eighth-century bishop of Hexham, remembered for his devotion to Saint Acca and for the miracles that attended his own tomb. When his bones were raised in the eleventh century and hidden in the Danish troubles, his cult survived among the saints of the Northumbrian border.
