Churchman of Clermont

The Churchman of Clermont is the anonymous author of the Life and Passion of Saint Praejectus (Prix), bishop of Clermont in Auvergne, who was murdered in the valley of Volvic in 676. Written within a generation of the saint’s death, it is a primary witness to the church of seventh-century Merovingian Auvergne.
