Churchman of Salzburg

The Churchman of Salzburg is the anonymous author of the Life of Saint Virgil, the Irish bishop of Salzburg (Feardhocrioch) who built the first cathedral there and was famously rebuked for teaching that the earth is round. Written in the early thirteenth century, it preserves the Salzburg tradition of the ‘apostle of Carinthia’.
