The Cleric of Armagh is the anonymous author of the Book of the Angel, the seventh-century summary of Patrick’s career and claims for Armagh, and of notes on the apostle of Ireland. His writings are among the earliest witnesses to the cult of Patrick and to Armagh’s claims of primacy.
