Cormac mac Cuilennáin of Cashel

Cormac mac Cuilennáin was king of Munster and bishop of Emly and Cashel, famed for his learning and killed in battle at Bellaghmoon in 908. To him is ascribed Sanas Cormaic, Cormac’s Glossary — the earliest vernacular encyclopaedic glossary of Europe, glossing Old Irish words with notes of history, law and legend.
