Correspondents of the Early Irish Church

The Correspondents of the Early Irish Church is the collective authorship of the letters exchanged between Irish churchmen and their continental friends from the sixth to the twelfth century — Columbanus to the popes, Cummian to Ségéne of Iona on the Easter question, Alcuin’s letters to Colcu, and the correspondence of John the Scot. Their letters preserve the learned dialogue of early Irish Christianity.
