Gregory of Elvira

Gregory of Elvira was a fourth-century bishop of Elvira in Baetica, a fierce defender of Nicaea among the churches of Spain. His treatises on the faith and his homilies on Scripture - long read under the names of Gregory the Great and Origen - made him the most substantial theologian of the early Spanish church.
