The Irish Monk is the anonymous author of the Voyage of Snedgus and Mac Riagla, the comic-solemn voyage of two monks of Iona; of the Tidings of Doomsday; and of a poem on the penitential (maledictive) psalms. Written in the tenth and eleventh centuries, they preserve the devotional and voyage literature of the medieval Irish church.
