Isaac of Nineveh
Isaac of Nineveh, called Isaac the Syrian, was a seventh-century monk of Beth Qatraye who briefly governed the church of Nineveh before returning to the desert. His Ascetical Homilies on the mercy of God and the hidden life are counted among the supreme books of Syriac and Eastern spirituality.
