Ishodad of Merv
Ishodad of Merv was a ninth-century bishop of Hedhatha in the Church of the East, the most learned exegete of the East Syriac schools. His commentaries on the whole Bible, gathering the Theodore tradition in clear Syriac, remain a principal witness to Nestorian exegesis.
