John the Dwarf

John the Dwarf was a fourth- and fifth-century Egyptian monk of Scetis, disciple of Ammoes and one of the most beloved of the desert fathers. His sayings on obedience, humility and the cutting of the will made his cell a school of charity for the generation that followed Antony.
