The Monk of Armagh is the anonymous author of the Life of Patrick preserved in the Book of Lismore, an eleventh-century vernacular life drawing on the older Latin lives of Tirechan and Muirchu. His retelling preserves the Armagh tradition of the apostle of Ireland in the language of his own people.
