The Monk of Bangor is the anonymous compiler of the Antiphonary of Bangor, the seventh-century liturgical manuscript that is the most precious survival of the Irish church’s worship. Copied at Bangor in County Down before being carried to Bobbio, it preserves the hymns, prayers and canticles of the early Irish liturgy.
