The Monk of Clonard is the anonymous author of the Life of Finnian of Clonard, ’tutor of the saints of Ireland’, from whose school on the Boyne went forth the twelve apostles of Ireland. Written in the twelfth century, it preserves the traditions of one of the greatest masters of the Irish church.
