The Monk of Clonfert is the anonymous author of the Life of Brendan of Clonfert, the navigator saint whose monastery at Clonfert on the Shannon became one of the great houses of Ireland. Written in the twelfth century, it preserves the traditions of the saint of the famous voyage.
