Monk of Ferns

The Monk of Ferns is the anonymous author of the Life of Maedoc (Aidan) of Ferns, the patron of the diocese who had been a disciple of Saint David in Wales before founding Ferns in Wexford. Written in the twelfth century, it is among the longest and most circumstantial of the Irish vernacular lives.
