Monk of Fore

The Monk of Fore is the anonymous author of the Lives of Saint Féchín of Fore and of Saint Fursa, the two patrons bound up with the monastery of Fore in Westmeath and with the saint who saw his famous visions at Burgh Castle. Written in the twelfth century, they preserve the traditions of two of the best-loved saints of the Irish midlands.
