The Monk of Ghent is the anonymous author of the Lives of Saint Bavo, the nobleman converted by Saint Amandus who ended his days as a hermit monk of Saint Peter’s at Ghent. Written in the tenth century, they preserve the traditions of the patron saint of Ghent and of his abbey.
