Monk of Glendalough

The Monk of Glendalough is the anonymous author of the Life of Saint Kevin (Caoimhghin), the hermit founder of Glendalough in the Wicklow mountains, whose temptations by the lake and friendship with birds made him one of the most beloved of Irish saints. Written in the twelfth century, it is the fullest vernacular account of the saint.
