Monk of Kilbarry

The Monk of Kilbarry is the anonymous author of the Life of Saint Berach, abbot of Cluain Coirpthe (Kilbarry) in Roscommon, the ‘comely-faced’ saint to whom the termon lands of his church belonged. Written in the twelfth century, it preserves the Connacht traditions of one of the early disciples of Saint Kevin.
