The Monk of Lynn is the anonymous author of the Life of Saint Colmán mac Lúacháin, founder of Lynn (Lann) in Westmeath, whose life was written in 1123 by a kinsman claiming descent from the same stock. It is a rich vernacular life, unusually circumstantial about the writer’s own age.
