Monk of Regensburg

The Monk of Regensburg is the anonymous author of the account of the blessed Marianus and Murcheratus, the two Irish monks who in the eleventh century founded the Scots’ monastery (Schottenkloster) of Saint James at Regensburg — the mother house of the Irish monasteries of southern Germany. Written in the twelfth century, it preserves the memory of the founders.
