The Monk of Tallaght is the anonymous author of the Evernew Tongue (Tenga Bithnua), the extraordinary Irish apocryphon in which the spirit of the apostle Philip instructs the sages of the world on the creation, the elements and the end of all things. Written in the ninth or tenth century, it is the summit of Irish apocalyptic cosmology.
