Muirgheas mac Pháidín Uí Mhaoilchonaire was a scribe of the Uí Mhaoilchonaire learned family, a native of Cluain Plocáin in Roscommon, who died in 1543. In 1516 he wrote the Book of Fenagh for Tadhg Ó Rodaighe, comharb of Saint Caillín, recasting the lost older Book of Saint Caillín; he also copied the codex called Leabhar Bhaile Uí Mhaoilchonaire.
