Paulinus of Milan
Paulinus of Milan was a fifth-century deacon and secretary of Saint Ambrose who wrote, at Augustine’s urging, the earliest Life of his master. His account of the bishop’s conversion, courage and charity is the foundation of the Ambrosian dossier.
