Perpetua the Martyr

Perpetua the Martyr was a young Roman matron of Carthage who was martyred with her slave Felicity in 203, keeping a diary in prison that became the most personal document of early Christianity. The Passion of Perpetua and Felicity, incorporating her own words, is one of the oldest surviving writings by a Christian woman.
