Philo of Alexandria
Philo of Alexandria was a first-century Jewish philosopher of Alexandria, leader of its Jewish community and the most prolific exponent of Scripture read through Plato. His allegorical commentaries on Genesis and Exodus, his embassy to Caligula and his doctrine of the Logos deeply shaped the language of the early Fathers.
