Pseudo-Ephrem is the name given to the anonymous authors of Syriac and Greek hymns and sermons ascribed to Ephraim the Syrian. The corpus - including the famous Praise of the Martyrs - shows the range of the saint’s posthumous fame in the Syriac and Byzantine churches.
