Pseudo-Hegesippus is the name given to the anonymous Latin writer of the fourth century who recast Josephus’s Jewish War as a Christian history. His five books On the Jewish War, read throughout the Middle Ages as the authentic version, carried the story of the destruction of Jerusalem into the Latin tradition.
