Socrates Scholasticus

Socrates Scholasticus was a fifth-century lawyer of Constantinople whose Ecclesiastical History continued Eusebius from 305 to 439. Valued for his fairness to heretics and pagans alike, his use of documents and his eye for the councils’ politics, he is counted among the indispensable historians of the early church.
