Syncletica of Alexandria

Syncletica of Alexandria was a fourth- or fifth-century Egyptian desert mother, remembered through the sayings preserved in the Apophthegmata and the early Life written in her honour. Her teaching on the soul’s warfare and on spiritual motherhood made her the foremost of the ammas of the desert.
