Theognostus of Alexandria

Theognostus of Alexandria was a third-century head of the catechetical school of Alexandria, successor of Dionysius and predecessor of Pierius. Remembered in the notices of the historians as a learned defender of the church’s teaching, his work is lost and his memory preserved among the doctors of the Alexandrian succession.
