Tyrannius Rufinus

Tyrannius Rufinus, Rufinus of Aquileia, was a monk and presbyter of Aquileia who became the greatest Latin translator of the early church. His renderings of Origen, Eusebius’s History, the Clementines and the desert fathers carried the East’s learning to the Latin West, though his loyalty to Origen destroyed his friendship with Jerome.
