In the presence of the Lord, before His high throne, let us kneel tonight, seeking His mercy.
The King of Heaven stands against every trial.
May Abel, son of Adam, intercede for us in our affliction.
May Noah and Abraham protect us from our torments.
May Elijah, the father of fourfold virtue, deliver us through his prayers.
Let Moses, the noble leader, guide us. Let Jesus (Joshua), Aaron son of Amram,
Job, who endured the sufferings of the prophets, stand as our witnesses before God.
The Son of Mary, whom we worship, may He protect us as we sing His praises.
Whether we sit or stand, may this be our constant prayer.
Elijah and Enoch, come to our aid, shielding us from the tribulations of the world.
Isaac, the chosen son, who was not tainted by sin, intercede for us.
And Joseph, the noble one among his brothers, with the King of the countless holy angels.
Through the Red Sea, He led His people—David, the servant of God, followed His path.
Beyond all dangers, He guided them, as He did with the seven sons of the Maccabees.
John the Baptist we invoke; Jesus, along with the apostles,
Mary, and Joseph, rose above every snare that was laid.
Every martyr, every hermit—may they be a shield of protection for us.
We beseech the King of kings, just as Noah in the ark.
And Melchizedek, king of Salem, offered their prayers.
May you be our protection, our safeguard, and our aid in times of danger.
And may the spirit of Stephen and the repose of the soul of Ignatius be with us.
May every saint who has dwelled in the kingdom be a shield for us against demons.
In our words, in the uncertain times of the flood,
From an unknown seed, may we be delivered from all fear.
Savior, You delivered Lot from the fire,
Abraham was delivered from Ur of the Chaldeans—so too, deliver Your people.
A blessing upon the three youths who sang praise, whom the fire did not harm.
The kingdom of heaven is radiant—do not abandon Your prophets to the depths.
May He, who is eternal, deign to deliver us.
Guide us, O Lord, as You once guided those who drew water from the spring in Gibeon.
As the fire blazed red, You saved David from the hand of Goliath.
Stretch forth Your mercy upon us in our suffering, delivering us from the jaws of lions.
Just as the angel fed those in need, may He be sent to aid us.
O Lord, in Your presence, we have sought refuge and have remained with You in life.
As You delivered the prophet Jonah, save us, O mighty and steadfast King.
Truly, O Lord, truly—may the Son of the heavenly King be with us.
Truly, O Lord, may it be so; for we have reached and attained it.
May we dwell without lack or want.
You freed Peter from his chains—may our path be made smooth in every distress.
May our works be found worthy in the kingdom of paradise.
From the depths of the great honeyed womb, from the bright and pure monastery, may God’s blessing be upon the feast prepared for us.
May this prayer be lifted up, surrounding this assembly.
May we all find peace in the King’s kingdom in heaven,
Rising up with the angels in eternal life.
Firm is the faith without end; may the hosts of our heavenly Father come.
A blessing on the hand of Patrick, a blessing upon this city.
A blessing on the hand of Brigid—may all noble protection be given.
A blessing from Colum Cille, upon the soul of Adamnán the renowned.
For the protection of the King of all creation, may the Holy Spirit comfort us,
The angels, apostles, and prophets, before the host of demons who assail us. Ancient God.
With the saints of Ireland around, and upon all who dwell therein,
With the young of Ireland around, a blessing upon the order of Brigid.
With the saints of Scotland beyond, may noble grace be upon the clans.
A safeguard that none shall take away—may Christ deliver us, may He protect us. Ancient God.
May those holy ones in heaven, whose memory we honor on earth, pray for us, that our sins may be blotted out through the invocation of Your holy name, Jesus. And have mercy on us, You who reign forever and ever. Amen.
