In Praise of the Blessed Virgin Mary

·305 words·2 mins

1 Let us sing
Every day, lifting up varied songs,
Crying out to God
a hymn worthy of holy Mary.

2 Twice through the choir, from side to side,
Let us praise Mary,
So that our voices may resound in every ear
Through our shared praise.

3 Mary, of the tribe of Judah,
The most high Mother of the Lord,
Gave timely care
To the suffering man.

4 Gabriel brought forth the Word,
First in the bosom of the Father,
Which was then conceived and received
In the maternal womb.

5 She is the highest, she is the holy
And venerable Virgin,
Who never wavered in faith
But remained steadfast.

6 No mother before or after
Was ever found like her,
Nor was her Child. Born from ordinary human descent.

7 Through a woman and a tree,
The world was first lost;
Through the virtue of a woman,
Salvation was restored.

8 Mary, wondrous Mother,
Bore her own Creator,
Through whom the waters
Washed the world in faith.

9 She conceived the Pearl—
These are no empty dreams—
For whose sake faithful Christians
Sell all they have.

10 The seamless tunic of Christ. His Mother wove throughout,
And when His death was fulfilled,
It stood undivided by lot.

11 Let us put on the armor of light,
The breastplate and helmet,
That we may be perfected in God,
Accepted through Mary.

12 Amen, amen!
We call upon the merits of the Mother in childbirth,
That the dreadful flames of hell. May never deceive us.

13 Let us invoke the name of Christ,
With the angels as our witnesses,
That we may rejoice and be inscribed
In the heavenly books.

14 Let us sing!

15 We implore the most worthy merits
Of holy Mary,
That we may be made worthy
To dwell in the highest throne.
