1 Support me, O Unity of the Trinity,
Have mercy on me, O Trinity of Unity.
I beg you, support me as I stand
as if in peril on the great sea.
2 Let not the mortality of this year
nor the vanity of the world
drag me down with them,
and I ask the same of the exalted virtues
of the celestial host.
3 May they not abandon me
to be torn apart by my enemies,
but defend me with strong arms
and march before me in the battle line
of the celestial army.
4 Let the Cherubim and Seraphim with their thousands,
and Michael and Gabriel with their peers,
go before me.
5 I call upon the living Thrones,
the Archangels,
the Principalities and Powers of the angelic ranks,
so that, defending me with their dense formation,
I may have the strength to cast down my enemies.
6 Then I invoke the rest of the valiant contenders:
the Patriarchs, four times four Prophets,
the Apostles—the prowsmen of Christ’s ship—
and all the martyrs, the champions of faith.
7 May salvation surround me through their intercession,
and may every evil perish away from me.
May Christ strike with me a firm covenant,
whose awe may terrify the gloomy hordes.
8 O God, with impenetrable protection,
defend me on every side by Your power.
Free all the limbs of my frame.
9 May a secure shield protect each part of me,
so that the vile demons
may not hurl their darts at my sides,
as they are wont to do.
10 Guard me against the Gygram, Cephalem with their spears,
and against Conas, Patham, Liganam,
Sennas, and Michinas.
11 Shield me from the violent Madianites,
Talias, Bathma, Exugiam,
and the twofold Idumaeans.
12 Therefore, upon my hair-covered head,
let the helmet of salvation be,
protecting my head,
my forehead, my eyes, and my brain,
my triple-formed face,
my mouth, lips, and cheeks,
my temples.
13 Protect my chin, my beard, my eyebrows,
my ears, cheeks, and jaw,
my nostrils and pupils,
my eyeballs and eyelids,
my gums and worn-down molars.
14 Shield my jaws and throat,
my teeth, tongue, mouth, and uvula,
my gullet and esophagus,
my neck, the top of my spine,
and the cartilage of my chest.
15 O Merciful One, be present with Your protection.
Then, let the breastplate be my surest defense
for my limbs and my inner parts.
16 Drive back from me the invisible
spikes and nails which the hateful ones fix.
17 Therefore, O God, with Your mighty breastplate,
shield my shoulders and shoulder blades,
my arms and forearms,
my elbows, hands,
fists, palms, fingers, and nails.
18 Shield my spine and ribs with their joints,
my back, loins, and bones,
protect my skin and blood with my kidneys,
my flanks, buttocks, and thighs.
19 Shield my calves, shins,
my leg armor, knees, and kneecaps,
my ankles, shins, and heels,
my legs, feet, soles, and toes.
20 Shield my branching limbs tenfold,
and my paired nails fivefold.
21 Shield my throat, my chest,
my breasts, stomach, and navel,
protect my belly, loins, and genitals,
my spleen and the vital parts of my heart.
22 Shield my threefold liver and my loins,
my spleen, kidneys,
my diaphragm and its bonds,
my stomach, chest, and lungs,
my veins, fibers, gall, and bile.
23 Protect my sinews with their marrow,
my twisted spleen and intestines,
my bladder, fat, and tissue,
and the countless orders of my sinews.
24 Shield my hair and all remaining limbs,
whose names I may have perhaps omitted.
25 Shield my whole being with my five senses. and my ten skillfully made gates,
so that from the soles of my feet to my crown,
I may not suffer affliction in any part,
neither outwardly nor inwardly.
26 Let no plague, fever, illness,
or pain drive my life from me,
until, by God’s grace,
I grow old and atone for my sins through good works.
27 So that, when departing from my flesh,
I may avoid the depths
and be able to soar to the heights,
and, by the mercy of God,
be joyfully carried to the refreshment
of the heavenly kingdom.
Amen.
