Lord God, your Praise we Sing

·328 words·2 mins

1 Lord God, your praise we sing,
Lord God, our thanks we bring.
Father in eternity,
All the earth worships You.

2 Both Angels and heavenly quires
All sing to their golden lyres,
Both Cherubim and Seraphim
Ever sing with loud voice this Hymn:

3 Holy are You our God!
Holy are You our God!
Holy are You our God,
O Lord of Hosts!

4 Your majesty and godly might
Fill all the earth and realms of light.
The twelve Apostles join in song
With the dear Prophets’ goodly throng.

5 The Martyrs’ noble army raise
Their voice to You in hymns of praise.
The catholic Church do You
Throughout the world confess to be,

6 The Father on Your highest throne,
Your worthy, true and only Son,
Also of You She makes her boast,
The Comforter the Holy Ghost.

7 To You, O Christ, all creatures bow,
The everlasting Son are You;
To save mankind You have not, Lord,
The Virgin Mary’s womb abhorred.

8 You overcame Death’s sharp sting,
Believers onto Heaven to bring.
At God’s right hand You sit clad
In the glory which the Father had:

9 You will in glory come again,
To judge both dead and living men.
Your servants help who You, Lord God,
Have ransomed with Your precious blood.

10 Grant that we share eternal rest
With your dear Saints already blessed.
Help us, O Lord, from age to age,
And bless Your chosen heritage.

11 Nourish and keep them by Your power,
And lift them up for evermore.
Lord God, we praise You day by day,
And sanctify Your Name always.

12 Keep us this day, and at all times,
From secret sin and open crimes.
For mercy only, Lord, we plead,
Be merciful to our great need.

13 Show us Your mercy, Lord, as we
Our steadfast trust rest in You.
We hope alone in Your great Name,
O let us not be put to shame.

14 Amen.
